Job Title: Program Lead

Company: Aisin World Corp. of America

Reports to: Senior Manager, Project Management

Location: Northville, MI

Other: Exempt position, not eligible for overtime pay

Explanation: Expansion of Program Management group to meet expanded customer product base. This includes Body, Electronics, and Chassis related non-Toyota business. A Program Lead has will be responsible for supporting the program and will work with a Program Manager to make sure a program is successful. 

Position Summary: 

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position.

Create and maintain master schedule:

  • Gather all critical requirements by the customer in terms of activities and timing.
  • Gather the critical requirement by all team players to meet the customers’ requirements.
  • Determine and build the schedule to meet or exceed the customers’ requirements.
  • Be proactive in analyzing and communicating the change points and adjustments to the schedule.

Control the daily tasks of the project:

  • Conduct and Lead regular review meetings with working team to review the actual condition vs the planned activity.
  • Determine and communicate to the team the customer communication method and intervals.
  • For Non-Toyota PM Leads -Be the Primary customer contact for all parts or series of parts. For Toyota PM Leads- support to the NAPS and serve only as a secondary contact with the customer.
  • Manage the program’s change points and generate control plans for all abnormal items.
  • Document management and control.
  • Regular reporting of programs activity at various periods (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) following required methods.
  • Escalate issues within department and/or with other departments as necessary

Travel to meet with customers and members regularly:

  • Follow the master schedule and attend critical milestone events but not limited to NMPM, PV, HVPT, Run & Rate.
  • When possible attend all customer Kick-off, milestone, or regular meetings onsite.
  • “Go and See” the condition at the Aisin plants, or support offices on a regular basis to confirm the condition by themselves.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of Program Management methods and styles. Experience with Toyota, GM, Honda, Nissan, Daimler, FCA, or other major OEM systems preferred. 
  • Organization skills of time and data
  • Ability to provide positive communication and build motivated teams
  • Ability to hear the frustrations of working groups and set countermeasures to correct.
  • Ability to support multiple customers and provide assurance of support for their conditions 

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • PMP, APQP, PPAP, or other PM Training

 

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field

 

Work Environment Requirements:

  • Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.
  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.
  • Must be able to operate as an effective team member.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.

 

Attendance/Work Hour Requirements:

  • Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be willing and available to work a regular work week plus other hours per day as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be willing and available to work such weekends and holidays as necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 25-35%
  • Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
