* Job Title: Assistant General Manager – Information Systems

* Location: Northville, MI

* Number of Positions: 1

* Other: Full-time, Exempt (not eligible for overtime pay)

 

Position Responsibilities

 

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

 

* Manage activities and projects related to the following:

 

a.) IT/IS Project Management

b.) IT Management

- Team Member Management,

- Budget Management,

- IT strategy (Long and Mid-term Plan)

c.) Management Network and system admin

 

* Lead for North American related projects, and other tasks as assigned with IS General Manager

* Manage & Support, along with IS Project Management, open projects related to systems, network, EDI.

* Conduct bi-annual North American IT/IS Meetings

* Create Mid-term IT activity plan

* Present quarterly focal activities to Executives

* Budget Management

* Visit North American Plants as needed to establish and maintain positive working relationships, as well as provide support and guidance as needed

* Conduct regular meetings to ensure that all daily activities and projects are being managed and monitored

* Evaluate user needs & system functionality to establish standards within the current working environment

* Work closely with vendors to obtain and establish cost benefits with analysis

* Manage critical situations, which may involve complex technical hardware/software problems, viruses, network security vulnerabilities, etc.

* Provide support and advice to management team

* Continue standardization goals and efforts in relation to policies and procedures

* Manage annual & mid-year expense & fixed asset budget planning

* Manage and support all systems and network infrastructures

* Manage communication, network and systems within the data center for North America

* Provide regular updates on ATSG (All Toyota Security Guidelines)

* Present quarterly focal activities to Executives

Required Skills and Abilities

 

Essential Skills and Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years of related experience in IT/IS with clear progression in roles, responsibilities and skill level

* Previous experience managing a team of direct reports; demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff members / direct reports based on their particular knowledge, skills and abilities

* Previous experience in a global, automotive manufacturing environment

* Experience supporting multiple locations simultaneously across various regions and time zones

* Previous vendor management experience

* Previous experience with / exposure to strategic planning initiatives

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to approach problem solving and decision making in a creative and ethical manner

* Strong organizational skills

Education/Training/Certifications

* Bachelor degree preferred in Information Systems or Business

 

Work Environment Requirements

* Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.

* Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).

* Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.

* Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.

* Must be able to operate as an effective team member.

* Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.

Attendance/Work Hour Requirements

* Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.

* Must be willing and available to work a standard work day, plus other hours per day or week as are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

Travel Requirements

* Approximately 25%

* Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
