Job Description

* Job Title: Catalog Specialist

* Reports to: Senior Manager, Product Management and Sales Support

* Location: Torrance, CA 

* Number of Positions: 1

* Other: Non-exempt, eligible for overtime 

Position Responsibilities

 

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

* Responsible for overall coordination, implementation, and execution of category electronic data requirements

* Maintenance of product master, application and interchange files

* Maintain accurate part information compliant with industry standards (PIES)

* Maintain accurate application databases, adhering to published industry standards (ACES) and customer requirements

* Establish & maintain cross references/interchanges for a category vs. all key competitor part numbers

* Analyze competitor product range to understand gaps, changes and additions to the line

* Maintain the electronic catalog for a given category, ensuring accuracy & completeness

* Manage & execute accurate delivery of electronic (and paper where necessary) catalog information to customers

* Manage customer data requests and inquiries. Review and address customer inquiries in a timely manner. Collaborate to assist with troubleshooting issue and documenting and communicating appropriate parties.

* Regular interface with category product teams to ensure that catalog/data work meets customer requirements

* Must be able to plan & meet deadlines

* All other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities


Essential Skills and Experience:

* Must demonstrate the ability to lead and work with cross functional teams. While the there are no supervisory responsibilities, the product team is set up as a cross functional team.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

* Must be committed to a high level of work quality and personal spirit of cooperation, accuracy and timeliness

 

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

* Automotive aftermarket experience as a catalog professional

* Strong background in vehicle parts knowledge, automotive part fitment, OEM and competitive part evaluation

* Proficient with ACES/PIES standards

* Demonstrated interchange experience

* Familiarity with customer requirements

* Proficient using Graphics Software 

Education/Training/Certifications:

* While no particular certification is required for this position, AWA would be influenced by additional abilities which any candidate may possess


Work Environment Requirements: 

* Must be able to operate a personal computer, telephone and other office equipment.

* Must perform job duties onsite, except those duties that are customarily or by their nature performed offsite (for example, offsite customer visits).

* Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment where constructive criticism is encouraged.

* Must be able to work on multiple assignments at once, and complete assignments within deadline and budget (if applicable) with satisfactory quality.

* Must be able to operate as an effective team member.

* Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all company safety policies.


Attendance/Work Hour Requirements: 

* Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.

* Must be willing and available to work other hours per day or week as are necessary and desirable to meet business needs.

Travel Requirements: 

* Approximately 3%. Occasional weekend responsibility.

* Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
